PREMIUM SAHOMES: A builder’s home

This week on the market, Manuel and Anne Pipinias' exquisitely finished Millswood home offers ease of living in a real estate hot spot.

Manuel and Anne Pipinias might be selling their Millswood home, but they love the area so much, they’re staying local.

The Wooldridge Avenue property sits just a short stroll from the shops of King William Road – an area that potential buyers are clamouring to get into.

Manuel says the home was built to the highest of standards six years ago – and he should know, he built it. “We built it knowing we wanted to live in it, so it’s all top quality and we didn’t cut any corners,” Manuel says.

Manuel, who runs Pipinias Enterprises, says he and Anne have always loved the area and when they found the property, they decided to start from scratch.

He created a four-bedroom, two-storey home, complete with two bathrooms, powder room and walk-in robe.

Manuel says while the home is spacious, it’s incredibly easy to take care of and perfect for those who don’t want to spend their hours on maintenance. “The home is great for people who love the area, but want to scale down.”

From its exterior, the home sits beautifully within the area and inside, it’s classic and modern all at once.

“We’ve kept it fairly traditional from the street and modern inside, but still with touches of the traditional.”

The sleek and spacious kitchen is fitted with Miele appliances and granite benchtops. The downstairs living area is opened up beautifully by a glass door bi-folding system.

Manuel says now is a glorious time of year to pull up a seat, with a view to the north-facing back yard. “It gets plenty of direct sunlight coming into the house, so we often sit in our chairs looking out to the water feature and read a book,”

The yard is great for entertaining, with its dining area sitting beneath a canopy of vine. “It covers the whole entertaining area and gives a wonderful Mediterranean feel. It’s great in summer to sit out there under the shade, and it’s so pleasant to sit and enjoy a barbecue.”

The house comes with its very own goldfish, who swim happily in a beautiful stone pond with a water feature. The outdoor area is neat and easy to care for. Hedging adds greenery, along with a small garden at the rear of the area.

The plunge pool doubles as a spa with swim jets and outdoor lighting makes a summer evening swim particularly enticing.

When building the home, Manuel was sure to consider every detail. It is well insulated and has electric gates, alarm and system and lush brush box flooring.

Onto his next project, Manuel is hard at work building his next home for himself and Anne.

On the market for $1,450,000, the sale is being handled by Peter McMillan of Toop&Toop.
