It’s all about space when it comes to this stunning five-bedroom home set on 37 acres in Clarendon.

The property, Iluka’s Eden, features two wings – one for parents and one for kids. The home was designed and custom built by Claridge Construction in 2011, with the imposing angular silhouette and unusual design created from a contemporary mix of rammed earth, reclaimed hardwood and luxury finishes.

Linda Oswald helps manage the property with her daughter Hanako, who is the owner but now lives in Byron Bay. The family has been renting the house out as an AirBnB but says they are now looking to sell. Linda says she and her husband, who live in Coromandel Valley,  had discussed buying the unique property themselves but with grandkids interstate, the couple plan on being away more in coming years.

“We’re not in a hurry, so we’ll put it out there and just see what happens,” Linda says.  “But there has been a lot of interest because it’s just so unique with the U-shape design and the rammed earth. “Another highlight is the jetty beams that hold up the pavilion on the front deck. You can’t get those anymore.”

“We’ve never had any bad experiences with our AirBnB guests. People have just really appreciated the house. It’s so cool in summer with the big sliding doors open, and warm and cosy in winter with the fire going.”

Other highlights of the Chalk Hill Road property include an en suite to the master bedroom complete with master spa that takes in the spectacular 180-degree views.

There is also a separate rumpus room plus two dams, five paddocks, a native garden, huge shed with three bays and a 6KW solar power system.
