SALIFE The Podcast, episode 6

In episode six of SALIFE The Podcast, editor Penny Yap speaks to Nikki Govan, owner of the Star of Greece restaurant and member of multiple boards and committees, about how she handles her busy summer schedule.

In episode six of SALIFE The Podcast, Nikki Govan manages to find a few spare minutes in her incredibly packed diary to sit down for a chat with Penny.

With a background in tourism and events, hospitality superstar Nikki Govan and her husband Doug own both the Victory Hotel at Sellicks Beach and Port Willunga’s famous Star of Greece Restaurant.

Summers are a blur of activity for the pair, who juggle the most hectic time of year for their businesses with socialising with friends who are visiting the coast for summer holidays.

Nikki and Doug Govan love entertaining at home

In addition to managing her business and caring for nine-year-old Maggie, Nikki is also on numerous boards, and two recent announcements have seen her become busier still.

With a deep love of hospitality, Nikki has shared in the trials faced by all those working in the industry during the COVID-19 crisis, and will be striving for a positive future for the restaurant and events sectors.

Nikki and Jann were featured in SALIFE in 2009

Nikki and her mum, Jann Seymour-Smith were featured in a story celebrating Mother’s Day in the May 2009 issue of SALIFE magazine. The pair spoke about their close friendship as mother and daughter.

“We’re terribly similar. We like the same clothes and theatre shows and we’ve got a great interest in food,” Jann said.

Both Jann and her husband David have always been great entertainers, and Nikki has certainly inherited this passion; she now enjoys nothing more than cooking for friends.
