Personal Shopper – Shop yourself warm on King William Road

As the temperature starts to drop, warm up your credit card this weekend to make sure your winter woollies are sorted.

South Australia is well and truly into the cooler months, but if your wardrobe hasn’t quite adjusted to the temperature drop, a trip to King William Road could be in order this weekend.

Chelsea Mattner from King William Road recommends Cable for luxury knitwear, including cashmere pieces and coats — and they’re Australian-made.

If you need something even more heavy duty, Designer Exchange are currently stocking a range of cosy coats, and Skins & Things have plenty of leather jackets and pants to choose from. A winter essential, Shouz Boutique is the place to pick up a new pair of boots.

For men, Denim & Cloth’s denim wall caters for all shapes and sizes, or pop in to Move Over Menswear for shirts, chinos and jackets.

All the shopping is bound to build up your hunger and thirst. Morchella Cafe’s menu will help with that — the pasta dishes are perfect this time of year.

“King William Road is also home to two inner-city cellar doors: Fox Gordon and Tomich Wines,” Chelsea says. “So on your way to lunch, you can pop in and try the collection of wines.”

The open fireplace at Farina 00 Pasta & Wine is inviting and a must during the winter months.

“From 4pm you can enjoy the intimate experience of The Local Wine Co and wind down after a day of shopping. With small and large share plates, you can enjoy a small bite to eat and choose from a wide selection of local, national and international wines.”

Or if you’re heading overseas to escape winter, King William Road still has you covered. The Ark, Blue Illusion and Denim Iniquity all have specific travel collections and summer pieces, featuring wrinkle-free fabrics perfect for the suitcase.
