A Little More Barossa

The Barossa is the place to be for the entire month of August as a new-look food and wine festival, A Little More Barossa, promises to ignite your senses.

A Little More Barossa food and wine festival (1st August to 31st August) features over 70 curated events offering new tastes, new flavours and experiences as wineries, cellar doors, restaurants, cafes and producers, showcase Barossa’s wine and food, the people and their stories.

Think celebrations, secret locations, long lunches and degustations too, along with indulgent wine, chocolate, cheese and fortified tastings, not to mention beer and cocktails too.  The events are diverse and accessible and offer a front row seat and behind the scenes access to some of Barossa’s leading food and wine icons through a series of workshops at the Australia’s only regional cellar, the Barossa Cellar as well as the Barossa Farmers Market and Meet the Makers sessions at the iconic Seppeltsfield.

And with event names like The Whole Chook and Nothing but the Chook, Three Little Pigs, Le Resistencia, In-spor-ation Ex-spore-ation, This is Our Eden, A Little More Luxury with Henschke at Kingsford, Pruner’s Lunch, Beer & Bacon Bonanza, Forage Flavour & Feast, An Evening in the Stables, Winery Winter Feast and Signature Supper Club leading the program, you can expect new twists and narratives in Barossa’s food and wine stories.

There’s also a heart-warming initiative to support the local youth, through Give A Little More Barossa Community Soup Kitchen. A concept brought to life by Sam Smith, of Fino, that will see a rotating roster of chefs and front of house staff, including Sam Smith & Amy Dunleavy (Fino), Tim Bourke (The Eatery), Mark McNamara, Clare Falzon (Hentley Farm) and Kyle Johns (Appellation) cook and serve soup each Tuesday in August from the Barossa Co-op (Nuriootpa). All proceeds from cup of soup sales will help Foundation Barossa’s ‘Homburg Homeless Prevention Fund’ to support longer term sustainable solution for youth homelessness in the region.
