First meeting as co-workers in 2017, it was love at first sight for Bea and Jack, with Jack asking Bea to marry him while they were living in Darwin for a year.

“It was an intimate proposal; as I walked into a hotel room he had sneakily booked, there were little notes on the floor reading ‘Will you marry me?’ and Jack was on one knee with the ring wrapped around our late dog Lily’s collar,” Bea says. The couple returned to Adelaide and spent the wedding surrounded by friends and family, being sure to include Jack’s brother, James, who has non-verbal Down syndrome. “We asked James to be our ring-bearer,” Bea says. “He had family surrounding him in case the task was too overwhelming – but he played his part perfectly by himself and we were so proud.”
