Journalist Christina and mining electrician Jack had been in a long-distance relationship for 14 years – four months spent together while travelling was the longest they’d been in the same place at once.

For their wedding day, the couple sped into the reception on a white vespa, Christina wearing an Italian silk gown by Ann Christou of Rapsimo Brides, who also created Christina’s mother’s wedding gown in 1981. The goal for the day was to make guests feel as though they’d been transported to Tuscany. “It was unbelievably surreal, I think my favourite part would have to be the ceremony,” Christina says. “My Italian family rarely – if ever – go to a ceremony outside of a church, so it was a big concern of mine before the day. But they all came up to us after and said how moved they were by the words spoken and how personal it was.”
