Duncan and Alice were engaged after Duncan planned a weekend away at Sequoia Lodge under the guise of a birthday celebration.

After a weekend of activities, Duncan popped the question in front of the fireplace, surrounded by candles and roses. For their wedding day, the blustery Adelaide Hills weather meant a change of plans, with the ceremony moved to the Ivy Barn, with Mandalay House and Garden owner Deb Schultz even driving the bridal party through the rain so they got there safe and dry. “Although we were originally hoping to hold the ceremony outdoors on the amphitheatre lawn, having everyone packed in and close made the ceremony so much more intimate,” Alice says. “Everyone parted to form a makeshift aisle and it was beautiful to walk beneath the fairy lights and chandeliers surrounded by all our loved ones.”
