Julia, Harry Potter and the Fleurieu Food Festival
From the schoolyard to Parliament
On October 9, 2012, Australia’s first female Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, stood up in Parliament and delivered the now infamous words: “I will not be lectured about sexism and misogyny by this man”. This August 16 to 31, head to the Dunstan Playhouse for Julia, as beloved actor Justine Clarke recreates Julia Gillard’s life journey, from the schoolyard in Adelaide to the hallways of Parliament House, where she gave her famous speech. This production was developed by Joanna Murray-Smith and is directed by Helpmann Award-winner Sarah Goodes. Julia is presented as part of the University of Adelaide’s 150th Anniversary Program in collaboration with the State Theatre Company South Australia, the Sydney Theatre Company and the Canberra Theatre Centre.
