SA Spring Garden Festival and Guitars in Bars

This weekend, head to the Flinders Ranges for A Brush with Art, or dance the Twist at the Victor Harbor Rock 'n' Roll Festival.

A spring-tastic time

Spring is officially here, with flowers in full bloom and new life in abundance. To celebrate this season of renewal, the charming town of Mount Pleasant will be putting on the SA Spring Garden Festival this Saturday. The garden extravaganza will include everything from garden stalls to garden-themed talks, live entertainment, a raffle, workshops and a free nature trail for kids. The SA Spring Garden Festival takes place from 8am to 3pm on Saturday, September 21, with tickets $12 online or $15 per adult at the gate, while children under 16 are free.

Theatre with a message

Head to Space Theatre in the Adelaide Festival Centre from September 25 to 28 as Theatre Republic puts on its production of The Almighty Sometimes by Kendall Feaver. The show follows Anna, a young woman who suffers from mental illness. Anna attempts to take control of her life, but when her world spirals out of control, those closest to her start to question the wisdom of her decision. Directed by Corey McMahon and featuring a star-studded cast including the likes of Simon Chandler, Tamara Lee, Emily Liu and Anna Steen, this production shines a light on the struggles of mental illness.

Let’s rock n’ roll

Make your way to Victor Harbor this weekend for the Victor Harbor Rock n’ Roll Festival. Experience the best rock n’ roll, fashion and timeless vehicles from the ‘50s and ‘60s, whether you’re a fan of Elvis, Buddy Holly, Bill Haley and His Crickets or The Rolling Stones. There will be dancing, vehicle displays, memorabilia and market stalls. This festival takes place from September 20-22.

A stroke of luck

A Brush With Art will transform the Flinders and Southern Flinders Ranges into a vibrant art trail this weekend as it returns for its 20th year. The annual event showcases the natural beauty of the Australian outback with exhibitions and workshops throughout the Flinders Ranges. This event takes place until October 14 and supports regional, rural and remote artists by giving them a platform to display their work and connect with a broader audience.
