What's On

Spiritfest, Budgie Fest and plenty of seafood

Indulge in fresh seafood this weekend in Adelaide with Sea to Shore on Glenelg's foreshore and Seafood + Sounds at the Adelaide Central Market, or enjoy a family-friendly day out at Budgie Fest.

Spiritfest cocktails

In the spirit of SA

Taste the spirits of South Australia at the annual Spiritfest on Saturday, October 28 on the banks of the River Torrens. More than 40 craft distillers from the state will showcase their concoctions while guests pair their favourite drinks with delicious food and live music. There will also be a series of masterclasses throughout the day where enthusiasts can gain a deeper understanding of local spirits.

Oysters

Spectacular seafood

Set sail for the Adelaide Central Market on October 27 and 28 for Seafood + Sounds. The Chilli Crab Shack by Sprout returns for a deliciously spicy seafood kick while SiSea and Golding Wines collaborate to show off the best ways to pair oysters and wine. Things will heat up with cooking demonstrations from Karena Armstrong of The Salopian Inn on Friday night and Justin James of Restaurant Botanic on Saturday morning. Keep the kids entertained with free sea-themed activities while you kick back, enjoy live music and indulge in decadent seafood specials from local traders.

Budgie

Chirp, chirp

Celebrate your favourite feathered friends at Budgie Fest on Saturday, October 28 at the Campbelltown Function Centre. The whole family, budgies included, are invited to enjoy a day of live music, delicious food and beverages, children’s activities and budgie presentations. In addition to a family-friendly day out, Budgie Fest is hosting a competition for the best pet budgies across nine categories – including the Deepest Sleeper Award for the budgie that ignores that they’re at a show and refuses to get involved, and the Sweetheart Pair Award given to the two budgies that are most inseparable and share a special bond.

Sea to Shore Glenelg Seafood Festival

By the seaside

Head to the beach on Saturday, October 28 as Glenelg’s foreshore transforms into a hub showcasing some of the state’s best seafood at Sea to Shore. Nine restauranteurs – including Fishbank, Oyster Bar and Soi 38 – will pop up on the foreshore with open marquees allowing visitors to watch the cooking in action before taking a bite. A pop-up bar by 2KW will offer drinks from Threefold Distilling, Little Bang Brewery and Riot Wine Co., and the celebrations will continue even after the sun sets with plenty of live music entertainment.
