There's plenty on offer for Mother's Day around the state, as well as the final weekend of the Spanish Film Festival and the launch party for the 2019 whale watching season.

LITTLE HEROES FOUNDATION LUNCHEON

Take your mum along to the Little Heroes Foundation Mother’s Day Luncheon, on Friday, May 10, at the National Wine Centre. Hosted by Anna Meares, guests will hear from speakers including a Little Heroes mum, as well as enjoy a fashion parade.

Get along to the Port Augusta Racecourse for Pink Ladies Race Day, which supports the local Breast Care Nurse — make sure you wear pink.

MOTHER’S DAY CLASSIC

Help raise funds for breast cancer and take part in the Mother’s Day Classic at North Adelaide’s Peace Park on Mother’s Day. There’s a choice of distances and walks and runs.

PINK SPORTS DAY

Sporting clubs around the state will go pink for Pink Sports Day, to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Network of Australia.

REMEMBERING MUM

South Australians are invited to share stories of their mums, grandmothers and other women of significance at a Mother’s Day service at Enfield Memorial Park on Sunday, May 12, from 10.30am. Families are encouraged to submit photos of important women in their lives who are now at rest, as part of the photo tribute segment (events@aca.sa.gov.au). Flowers will be given to guests to take home or place as a tribute. Complimentary beverages and crepes will be available from 10am.

SPAIN ON SCREEN

There’s still time to catch the offerings at the Spanish Film Festival, at Palace Nova cinemas, until May 15. The program features box office hits, documentaries and a spotlight on female directors.

MAKE A SPLASH

The 2019 Whale Season Launch Party event will be held on Saturday, May 11 on Warland Reserve, Victor Harbor, with live music performed by local artists, local food, children’s activities, attractions and a Marine Conservation Expo area. There will be face painting, nature play and an art activity, with other amusement rides available.
