What's On

What’s on: Easter long weekend

Make the most of the extra-long weekend this Easter - and work off some of those hot cross buns – by getting out and about to support local.

HANDCRAFTED EASTER

Hop into the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company for a handcrafted easter. There will be daily activities, including easter egg hunts and visits from the Easter bunny himself. Benni’s Cafe and Vineyard Road Cellar Door will be open all weekend. The Barossa Valley Chocolate Company just outside of Tanunda at 64 Burings Rd, will be open from 10am to 5pm every day of the Easter break.

THE SPORT OF KINGS

Get your glam on this Saturday, April 3 for the polo at McLaren Vale. In a first for the Fleurieu Peninsula, Vale Polo Classic will take centre stage at the inaugural event which is expected to attract more than 2000 people to the region. The event is designed to showcase South Australia’s incredible hospitality and the Fleurieu’s unique food and wine offerings. It all kicks off at 12pm at the McLaren Vale Football field, so frock up and get ready to stomp those divots.

SUPPORT LOCAL

Find everything you need for Easter at the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market, open Easter Sunday. There will be local farm-fresh produce, freshly baked hot cross buns and a free jumping castle for the kids to enjoy. Have a browse around the market, grab a coffee or a bunch of beautiful flowers. Support local farming families when you shop small and local this Easter.

FAMILY FUNDAY

Take the family for a trip down to the Barossa Valley for Whistler Wines Easter Sunday Family Funday. The kids can get their face painted and take part in an Easter egg hunt. Sit back with a glass of wine and be entertained by live acoustic music from Brad Lee. There will also be coffee from Mrs Sippy, plus delicious food and a fundraiser barbecua by Nuriootpa Netball Club.

EASTER AT MELBA’S

Open all long weekend, Melba’s has plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained. Enjoy free face painting and balloon twisting for the kids, delicious Melba’s hot chocolate and lunch on the lawns with Maxine’s Baked Potatoes. For every chocolate bilby sold, Melba’s will be donating part proceeds to the Zoos SA Greater Bilby Conversation, so hop to a great cause and pick up a delicious sweet treat. Wander through the factory and enjoy the ambience of the Easter celebrations.
