What’s On: Live music, winter eating and Elvis for wombats

This weekend, shop till you drop at the Boho Luxe Markets or indulge in South Australian produce with the Tasting Australia Winter Series.

Revitalising music

Music SA’s Umbrella Festival is back in 2022 with a program boasting more than 175 events across the state throughout July. This year, the festival aims to reignite the recovery of South Australia’s live music sector and is packed with performances of all kinds, from trad-folk to punk-rock, experimental jazz and acoustic covers. Highlight events from this year include Queer Club which, will feature five queer Australian artists; First Nations Voices at Nexus Arts and Bingo Loco, a night of lip-sync battles, dance-offs, confetti canons and crazy theatrics at UniBar Adelaide.

Winter wonders

Celebrate winter produce and experiences with an abundance of events across South Australia this July with the Tasting Australia Winter Series. Embrace the rich flavour of red wine and truffles in the Adelaide CBD or head across the ocean for a Sensorium of flavours on Kangaroo Island. The Tasting Australia Winter Series will offer a smorgasbord of flavours to sate every palate and reach each corner of South Australia with delectable dining opportunities.

Dry July

Challenge yourself to an alcohol-free month with Dry July to raise funds to support people affected by cancer. Funds raised as part of Dry July provide services for cancer patients, their families and carers – whether it’s a lift to a life-saving appointment, guidance from a specialist nurse, connection to an informative voice, access to therapy programs or a bed close to treatment.

We love wombats

On Saturday, July 2 join Wombats SA at the Capri Theatre for a special fundraising screening of Elvis. From 5.30pm, enjoy live entertainment from rock and roll band The Shakers and prepare for a 7pm screening of Elvis. All funds raised on the evening will be donated to support and improve Wombats SA’s wildlife reserves that currently include 7700 hectares and protect approximately 2000 wombats.
