What’s on: National Tree Day, A Little More Barossa and Illuminate Adelaide returns

Lockdown is over! After spending a week at home it's time to put your mask on and get back out there to experience everything our state has to offer.

NATIONAL TREE DAY

Be part of something big by planting a tree this National Tree Day. Planet Ark’s National Tree Day is Australia’s largest tree planting and nature care event. This week they celebrate a quarter-century of connecting with the community, caring for nature and planting trees – with more than 26 million trees planted since 1996. There are a number of National Tree Day events happening around Adelaide this weekend for those who would like to get involved by volunteering their time. All public events will be held in accordance with local COVID-19 protocols to ensure the safety of National Tree Day participants across Australian communities.

A LITTLE MORE BAROSSA

You can never have too much of a good thing, which is why Tourism Barossa has launched a brand-new food and wine festival called, A Little More Barossa. From August 1 to 31 the festival will give visitors a plethora of opportunities to become a little more acquainted with the Barossa Valley through dozens of events including long lunches, degustation dinners, masterclasses, picnics, live music and more. More than 45 wineries, cellar doors, restaurants, cafes and other venues will host events that showcase the region’s food, wine, people and stories.

ILLUMINATE ADELAIDE IS BACK

After being forced to put the festival on hold due to South Australia’s lockdown last week, the Illuminate Adelaide team are excited to welcome back guests. The team have worked with SA Health, artists and program partners to reignite Illuminate Adelaide and light up your winter again. Visit the festival’s website to find out what events are happening around Adelaide this weekend.
