What's On

What’s on: Winterfest, Panda party and markets

Make the most of the last few weeks of winter by exploring these offerings in Adelaide and around the state.

CHILL OUT

Don’t let the cold stop you from getting out of the house. Head down to Winterfest at the Queen’s Theatre on Saturday, August 21 for the ultimate winter experience. From market stalls to mulled wine, you’ll find everything you need to enjoy a magical winter moment in the heart of Adelaide. Then, from 7pm, wrap up warm for the Ski Lodge party, a dress-up event with food, drinks and DJs.

PANDA PARTY EXTRAVAGANZA

Deliveroo and the Adelaide Zoo have teamed up to give locals the opportunity to celebrate the birthdays of South Australia’s giant pandas, Wang Wang and Fu Ni. The special event will be held on Thursday, August 26 in the Zoo’s Bamboo Forest. There’s only one way locals can gain access to the exclusive after-hours event: simply spend $20 or more on Deliveroo from a participating restaurant and you will receive a free fortune cookie. More than 1200 cookies contain a prize including Deiveroo credit, free passes to Adelaide Zoo and the golden tickets, an invite to the exclusive panda party.

OFF TO THE MARKET

Come along to the next Burra Market on Saturday, August 21 from 10am to 2pm. Visit up to 20 stalls to meet the makers and creators or pop into the local shops along the main street. The market is a great day out for the family with live music, face painting and lots of entertainment for the kids. On offer will be clothing, native plants, food, craft and jewellery plus more.

WINTER VILLAGE – ONLY A FEW WEEKS LEFT

The Winter Village only has a couple of weeks left in Adelaide before it’s all over for another year on September 5. The Winter Village is an alpine-inspired winter wonderland located at Torrens Parade Ground. The Winter Village is the ultimate winter experience and is open daily. There is an ice-skating rink, an igloo village, daily snow showers and food and drink pop-ups serving the ultimate cosy comfort food. Entry is free and you can pre-book private igloos and ice-skating passes via the village website.
