Recipe: Anzac biscuits

This is the weekend to fire up the oven and bake those Anzac biscuits. The bakers at Adelaide Central Market's Dough Bakery have shared their recipe.

Dough Bakery at the Adelaide Central Market – open Friday only this weekend – has packaged options if you’re not much of a baker.

Makes 28 biscuits

180g oats
300g strong flour
220g caster sugar
110g brown sugar
160g desiccated coconut
2 pinches salt flakes
240g unsalted butter
80g golden syrup
2 tsp bi-carb soda
80g water

Preheat oven to 150C (fan-forced). Mix oats, strong flour, caster sugar, brown sugar, desiccated coconut and salt flakes together in a large mixing bowl.

Melt butter and golden syrup together in a separate bowl, then combine with boiling water and bi-carb soda.

Add dry mix to the wet mix until all combined. Scoop approx. 50g balls of dough and place on a baking tray.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Eat and enjoy!
